Night Guard

Do you wake up in the morning and wonder why your teeth, jaw and gums are sore? It's probably because you grind your teeth while you sleep.

The condition known as bruxism or teeth grinding happens to many people. You can consciously grind their teeth during the day, but teeth grinding while you sleep is a much bigger problem. Grinding your teeth can damage enamel, wear down teeth, cause jaw pain, and irritate your gums. The noise from teeth grinding can also disturb your spouse’s sleep.

A night guard is an excellent option if you grind your teeth. A night guard is very similar to a mouth guard worn by athletes, and serves as a barrier between your top and bottom teeth. All night guards are custom fit for comfort and for proper breathing. An impression of your teeth will be taken and the impression will be sent to a lab for fabrication. Night guards are durable and can be used for years.

There are other methods to attempt if you want to stop grinding their teeth. Try to train your jaw to be free and easy rather than clenched. Refrain from chewing gum or from chewing on objects such as pens. Avoid alcoholic and drinks with caffeine. Caffeine intake increases the likelihood of teeth grinding.
