Loose Dentures? Consider an Overdenture!

Loose Dentures? Consider an Overdenture!
Are you looking for an affordable way to replace all of your teeth at once? Do you already wear a denture? Are you concerned about having a “plate” that slips or rubs uncomfortably throughout the day?
Combining traditional dentures with a few strategically placed dental implants could be the perfect solution! Overdentures are like conventional dentures, but with 2-4 “locators” underneath. These locators clip or snap onto dental implants for added security throughout the day.
Implant Stabilized Dentures
Overdentures eliminate the need for messy denture adhesives and pastes. Plus, they won’t rub or pop out at inopportune times. The few implants that keep them in place give you the confidence you need, with the versatility of removing your plate each evening.
An implant stabilized denture is easy to clean and maintain. Simply care for it the same way you would any other denture or partial.
In some cases, it’s possible to retrofit your existing denture onto new dental implants, converting it into an overdenture. However, most poorly fitting dentures are partially due to changes in your mouth shape or the appliance wearing out, so they may need to be replaced entirely.
Candidates for Overdentures
If you’re interested in talking with Dr. Tayal about whether overdentures are right for you, we’ll need to make sure your gums are healthy and that there’s adequate bone support in your jaws. As long as there is enough bone density to install 2-4 implants, you likely qualify.
Overdentures are ideal for our Orlando patients that don’t qualify for traditional dental implant therapy or who need an interim solution if they plan to get an All-on-4 denture later on.
Since implants keep your denture snuggly in place, you can enjoy a greater variety of food textures and speak more clearly. You’ll be glad you made the investment!
